Experience performances by Jose Gonzalez of his two decade long repertoire with a 21 piece orchestra, The String Theory, at the Kalamazoo State Theatre on March 27th, 2019.
The performances included stirringly original renditions of songs originally found on González’s three celebrated solo albums: 2003’s breakthrough debut “Veneer, 2007’s “In Our Nature,” and 2015’s “Vestiges & Claws.”
Jose Gonzalez is a deep, artful thinker whose singular approach to song writing and sonics sets him worlds apart, José González is in a class by himself. He has a voice. He has a sound. He has a point of view.
Founded in 2007, The String Theory is a Berlin and Gothenburg-based artist collective, think tank, and experimental chamber orchestra that explores the outskirts of contemporary classical music, electro, noise, Neue Musikm and pop by means of workshops, studio recordings, and live performances. In addition their collaboration with González, The String Theory have formed artistic co-operations with a stunning range of musicians and artists, among them include Einstürzende Neubauten, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, El Perro Del Mar, Tocotronic, Dieter Meier (Yello), Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), Tindersticks, and many others.

Seating is reserved for this all ages event. There is an 8 ticket limit. All tickets increase $2.50 day of show.

- Your VIP Meet & Greet will run preshow at 6:15pm. Please queue at the venue main doors by 6:15pm with your paper or scan-able tickets in hand and you will be directed to the Meet & Greet location.
Skip the line Ticket Information:
Why wait in the elements when you can skip the line?! This is a separate ticket that will grant you expedited entry into the venue. Skip The Line entry is located near the main entrance of the building. Look for VIP / Skip The Line signage or ask a staff member. Present your Skip The Line pass along with your event ticket for expedited entry and to avoid the public lines. Event tickets are sold out. THIS IS NOT AN EVENT TICKET.

What time does the show start and when will doors open? What if I need ADA assistance? We suggest that you arrive early in order to avoid the line and to pass through security check points. We look forward to a great night! Anyone with ADA needs and requiring additional time to be seated may enter 15 minutes prior to posted door time. Please be advised that event times are subject to change due to a variety of conditions including inclement weather, illness, and transportation delays that are out of our control. For this reason, any delayed events performing on the original event date are nonrefundable.
I may need to take a break, is there intermission? There will not be an intermission. Please plan accordingly prior to the event starting. Why should I arrive early?
So there could be a line, do you offer SKIP THE LINE PASSES? Are tickets still available, I have a friend asking about them?
What is the camera & mobile device policy? Unless otherwise posted, absolutely NO professional photography, audio or video recording of any kind is allowed during the performance. Cell phone photography and point-and-shoot cameras are allowed. Professional cameras and detachable lens cameras are NOT allowed in the venue unless approved by management. Will I be searched prior to entering the theatre? Where can I park for this event? How do I pick up Will Call tickets? When will the box office be open?
